After You’ve Gone seems a bit different. It might be because of the new time slot, or it has indeed changed. However this change is only slight and I don’t mind at all.
Dawn Of The Dad was a bit slow getting off the ground. The fantasy dreams reminded me of Grange Hill series 31 although they weren’t nearly as bad as the school drama’s final series. I loved the future Molly in Jimmy’s dream, and the future Diana was also great. Diana’s dream later on in the episode was even better.
“Now here is the news. Two children have died after not seeing their grandmother. Yes, I’m talking to you Diana. Molly & Alex are gone. Now back to the soothing music.”
The first half may have been slow, but I did enjoy the first couple of minutes. There has been some back story going on since series two, and it’s good to know what’s been happening to the characters. And it was a neat way to keep the show going.
The essence of a sitcom did show through with the extremity of the house once Diana stopped paying the bills. It made it feel like a proper sitcom.
Overall, a good episode with some bits that could have had a tiny tweak was shown. It was a great start to the series.
